About this app

Sierpinski Triangles are fractals, which means part of the triangle is similar to the whole triangle. Typically, we would start with an equilateral triangle and find the midpoints of each side and then draw smaller triangles using the midpoints and its existing vertices. The process goes on forever. There are a few geometric sequences that are worth exploring with K-12 students. This app has several features. First, it allows users to start with any triangle and create self-similar triangles using recursion. Second, it allows the midpoints to be displaced linearly in a random way. Third, it allows the midpoints to be randomly displaced in all directions. There are numerous shapes; so enjoy the beauty of triangular fractals. Warning: Please be patient if you choose to go deep into the structure. It just takes time due to the very nature of recursion. All rights reserved by developer.
