La necesidad de contar con un organismo gremial que aglutine y organice las luchas dispersas de los Médicos hace que en el año de 1955, se dio origen a la CONFEDERACION MEDICA SINDICAL DE BOLIVIA, cumpliendo así con el propósito de contar con una entidad que luche por las reivindicaciones profesionales de los Médicos, constituyéndose con el tiempo, en la entidad más combativa de los profesionales del País. El primer Secretario Ejecutivo de la Confederación Médica Sindical de Bolivia, fue el Dr. Néstor Orihuela Montero.
Vision. Ser considerada como una entidad, asociación o institución académica, científica y gremial, con reconocimiento nacional e internacional, por su liderazgo y promover la excelencia en el ejercicio de la atención médica en un entorno adecuado de trabajo, basado en valores de justicia equidad e igualdad, logrando el bienestar de nuestros afiliados.
Mision. Velar por el cumplimiento de los Estatutos y Reglamentos del Colegio Médico de Bolivia entre sus colegiados, con la finalidad de promover la excelencia en el ejercicio médico, promoviendo especialmente su desarrollo profesional, laboral, familiar, ético y social.
