يبدأ الدكتور الحديث بالتعريف بخالد ونشأته والبيئة المحيطة بيه وبالمواجهات التي حدثت بينه وبين الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم
وقصة إسلام خالد, منتقلاً إلى خلافة ابي بكرة الصديق رضي الله عنه وحروب الردة ومعركة اليمامة وحديقة الموت..
ثم سير خالد بجشيه إلى العراق وبدأ المواجه العظمى مع الامبراطورية الفارسية وحلفاءها والمعارك التي خاضها خالد في العراق كالولجة وكاظمة..
ثم انتقال خالد بنصف جيش العراق إلى الشام ومواجهة القطب الثاني في العالم الامبراطورية الرومانية وكيف تغيرت الموازين العسكرية تماماً بوصول خالد,
والمعارك التي خاضها خالد في الشام كأجنادين وفحل وملحمة الــيرموك..
واخيراً قرار عزل خالد عن القيادة ووفاته رضي الله عنه وارضاه..
