Wander around the city following his steps with a cultural and playful journey conceived by the students and teachers of Nicolas Appert high school in Nantes-Orvault, with the support Jules Verne’s Museum of Nantes Métropole.
Your smartphone will guide you with a free and simple app, available in 3 languages.
You will find plenty of information and stories about Jules Verne and his work as well as some beautiful pictures, sounds, and geo-localized maps to enhance the texts.
Visiting everything or tailoring your visit, in one go or with a few breaks, on the spot or from home: you decide what you want to do.
Some mini-quiz and games will complete this tool for sightseeing tourism.

Are you coming to Nantes and you want to know more about Jules Verne, who was born there? Do you want to do an original and playful visit? This application conceived by the students and teachers of Nicolas Appert high school in Nantes-Orvault, with the support of Jules Verne’s Museum of Nantes Métropole will allow you to discover Nantes on foot by following the steps of its visionary writer, thus knowing everything about him and his native city.
You can choose between several routes divided in stages. The basic route is 1,2 miles long and should last 1h30, to which you can add options according to your own interests and the time you have: museum visits, important monuments and places of Nantes. You will be guided by geo-localized maps. At any time, you will be able to go back or choose to skip over a step. This route can be done over several days without losing your data. You can also do it from your couch.
You are going for a walk through the center of Nantes, once you reach the targeted spot, you’ll read the information. You will be provided with pictures and recordings corresponding to authentic documents of Verne’s world. At the end of each stage you can do a sliding puzzle and a quiz, a playful way to know if you have learned everything on Jules Verne.
This app can be used alone as well as in family for a cultural trip, with a group of tourists or with a school class who wish to discover Jules Verne and his native city. By the way, you can choose to do your visit in any of our 3 languages available: French, Spanish or English.
