This is the best app I have ever used, I've been making music for a year now and I've always had trouble making melodies that are catchy and when I tried this app out i immediately fell in love with it, all I did was copy each note into my music software and did the same with the rest, it helps so much, if your looking for an app that will help you, this is the one

ATTENTION!! If you can make it to "play" random notes,, automatically,, and give me the option to not know what note this is,, this could revolutionize ear training for musicians.. please pleasseee make it happen.. very sorry about the 1 star i dont mean it its a great app, but just to get your attention

To people who know why they would want this: Look past the design choices and this app is definitely worth it. Unless you can build something like this for yourself, I'd definitely recommend downloading this app to practice.

Works well. But it would be nice if it had a timer so that it could produce a series of notes, one every few seconds. Set that up and it gets five stars.

About this app

This sounds... random?

Hello and welcome to Random Note App. The goal of this app is to help you get more efficient with practicing your musical instrument through using randomly generated notes, chords and series. To do so, the app offers you two modes: „Random Note“ and „Rando Series“.
„Random Note“ creates a single note (in letters or treble clef), triad or 7th-chord at a time, with the possibility of listening to them, seeing the piano voicing that goes with them and moving on to the next note/chord.
„Random Series“ creates a series of notes (again in letters or treble clef), triads or 7th-chords, with the possibility of listening to them by clicking them.

Ok, now how do we use this for practicing?

There's a lot of ways you can use the Random Note App for practicing: Whether it's practicing finding single notes on your instrument or simple chord voicings on piano with „Random Note“ or practicing sightreading or doing all you scales and arpeggios in a random order with „Random Series“: There are many different ways in which you can improve your practicing efficiency using random notes.

Alright, and why exactly should we be doing this so randomly?

Scientific studies have shown that practicing the very same patterns without any variation over a long time is actually not very efficient and can even become detrimental to one's playing at some point.
This is where the Random Note App comes in! Instead of practicing our scales or arpeggies or [exercise of your choice] in the same order everytime (e.g. Cm arpeggio, C#m arpeggio, Dm arpeggio, Ebm arpeggio, etc.), we can use the app to generate a random order for us to practice, forcing our brain to adapt more and therefore learn more in the same amount of practice time!
