About this app

■「知識は力なり」とはフランシス・ベーコンの言葉です。ひと口に「力」と言っても、「学力」「体力」「権力」、果ては「超能力」まで、わたしたち人間にまつわる「力」は多様です。フランシス・ベーコンが「知識は力なり」と言った時に、彼が「何力（なにりょく）」を意図していたかはわかりませんが、現代に生きるわたしたちがもっとも必要とし、もっとも渇望しているのは「コミュニケーション力」ではないでしょうか。
フランシス・ベーコンがこの２１世紀の世に生まれていたら「知識はコミュニケーション力なり」とはっきり言うかもしれません。コミュニケーションに不可欠なのは、話し手と聞き手の間で共有される「言語」そして「知識」です。コミュニケーションを円滑にするという観点で「知識」をとらえると、なにも特別な知識や難解な知識はいりません。いわゆる「常識」とか「教養」と言われる知識を、幅広く身につけることが大切です。
『もの知り～ズ』は、１２の分野の基本的で常識的な知識を１２問ずつ出題するクイズ形式のアプリです。クイズに答えることで、楽しんだり驚いたりしながら１２分野の知識を身につけ、現代社会を生き抜くのに必要な「コミュニケーション力」を高めてもらいたいと願います。


■「できるまで終わらない」
知識を身につける上で欠かせないのが反復です。難しい言葉や人物名でも、何度も繰り返し目にすることで覚えることができます。「できるまで終わらない」というのは、繰り返し反復することで確実に身につけてほしいという願いからつけたキャッチフレーズです。
しかし、これは同時に実際の出題形式を説明する言葉でもあります。各セッションは１２問ずつのクイズですが、間違えた問題は繰り返し出題されるため、全問正解するまでそのセッションは終了しません。文字通り「できるまで終わらない」というわけです。さらには１２分野に関しても、全分野で１００点を取ると満点達成画面が表示されますが、それまでは途中放棄せずに全分野で１００点を取るまで継続するように促されます。ここにも「できるまで終わらない」というコンセプトが生きているのです。

■得点の設定
各セッションの満点は１００点です。１２分野のトータルは１２００点満点になります。各セッションとも、スタートの時の持ち点は４０点。正解すると１問につき５点加算されます。１２問とも正解すると６０点加算、はじめの持ち点と合わせて１００点満点となります。不正解の場合は５点減点されます。間違え続けると持ち点は無くなり、マイナスの得点がかさんでいきます。
