Teaches the basic sounds with examples of rimes in words, as can be seen in screen shots. Parents can read the "reading rules" and explain them one by one. ☆ The only - and very common - niggle is the unnecessary shwa sound after consonants. ☆ The program would be better if there was a section for vowel digraphs and consonant blends. For a complete phonics program there should be sections for all the rules, Like split digraphs, as in the "Read me" sections. Incomplete, but a good start for a free app.

When my daughter started in reception, I was quite apprehensive about her learning to read & spell. I needn't have bothered. This is an excellent teaching system. It is easy for the children to remember, with the "phonic" actions being addictive.
