Lahir di Tuban, Koesdjono atau John bersama saudara-saudaranya, Tonny Koeswoyo, Yon Koeswoyo, Yok Koeswoyo, dan Nomo Koeswoyo, pindah ke Jakarta. Dari sanalah perjalanan Koes Plus dimulai.
