I think this is the best version of online chess there is! It pits you against actual people, resulting in a more authentic & interactive setting, instead of the only option in some versions being that you can only play the computer or AI program - whatever it's called. I'm extremely happy I found this app!

Right off the bat after my first victory, you started bombarding me adds, which the first victory was way too easy. I never even got a chance to set up a profile picture or anything. Simplify the sight. I don't mind the adds, but at least let the players play. Pretty sure my opponent was AI, even though he had a profile picture. You all have some work to do. I will try it again after you make some changes.

the ads are horrible. so many of them. unskippable. sometimes you have to click the ad and go to marketplace just to make the ad go away. I can't imagine such a basic game being so greedy. and I don't believe their response. it's a basic chess app with basic ai. there are other apps with far less ads and far better features, that are also free.

One star because I could not give it zero. The app kept redirecting me to some "you won a prize!" Amazon page. No warning, no add, just an obnoxious pop-up in the middle of playing. It happened to me six times in the course of a single game. Edit after reading other reviews: I see the automated response about how adds are important to keeping the game free. As someone who refuses to pay for Spotify Premium, I will suffer adds. This redirects to a browser, pulling me out of the app which is worse

This would be five stars, but ... One star for quick loading and finding opponents and smooth operation--when it works. But it freezes the screen with a dark translucent overlay in the middle of games, and I time out and "lose" and have to kill the app since it stays frozen. I've only played 8 games and "lost" three to this glitch, which is 60 coins, too. I guess an update caused this. Devs should know when an update goes wrong like this the proper thing is to roll back to previous version.

Your record is the most important result, and I have lose so many games due to no fault of my own. This app has bugs that will make your screen go black, freeze up, or disconnect from home wi fi and mobile networks. I have the best mobile network in the country! So its no fault of my own. What really sucks is I play Blitz which is only one minute per move. And usually by the time you fix the error you have been defeated because your clock timed out.
