I loved the original, but after trying the port on 3 different devices, still very bad frame rate and choppy. I'm sure it would be stellar otherwise, but I'm going to have to request a refund. *EDIT* After I cleaned my cache and restarted my devices, it was smooth sailing. Changed from 1 star to 5. Excellent work. Just had to put in the extra effort to figure it out. ^_^

Wish I had bought this for a different platform. The controls are horrid. The game is strictly in portrait mode, so the field of vision is tiny, and moving the camera view takes a lot of time and effort (multiple swipes just to get the proper view every time I turn a corner). Exploring the first town felt like it took forever as a result, and I was not even sure that I had fully explored because the view problems made it impossible to get a holistic sense of the space.

A great game renderd unplayable due to a 15fps frame lock. The game runs sluggishly horribly choppy and not because of the phone I'm using. I will never understand why the people that ported this game would lock the Fps so low without an option to change it it really boggles the mind. If you think about the devs and why they frame locked it so low seems a bit lazy or moronic.

The frame rate is HORRENDOUS. Seems to be 15 fps when console games are at a 30 fps ~minimum~. This is the only update that matters at this point. Dragon Quest 8 is a 5/5 game. This version is unacceptable. Also: No voice acting & controls poorly. People giving 5* will give that to anything. If you see no issue with the fps, never try pc. Also your standards are terribly low. The PS2 version does NOT look like this.

I love the game but it's really killed it with no voice actors at all ...I don't understand why you guys didn't have them placed in...you all really should invest in an update or something that allows you to download a version with voices added in ..I understand sound files are huge but hey it's really does effect the game play

It's the eighth Dragon Quest 🛡🐉⚔ game and still virtually no one ever minds that you come in unannounced to rummage through their dresser 👚, steal and break their stuff ❗ It took me around 1 hour and ten minutes to complete the main story of this game 😅. Folks, don't let critics sway you from this very cool game because of its differing frame rate, 🎶, portrait mode from the console versions. This is already a huge app (1GB) so developers had to cut corners for the mobile version 📲. This was my first time playing so ignorance was bliss. Other first timers can check out the voice acting cutscenes on YouTube. 👉🏻TIP: There's now an alchemy cauldron 🍳which lets the player mix items to upgrade on weapons & armor so don't be in a hurry to sell everything. Don't feel guilty either if need to refer to online videos & guides every now and then, but props to you if you never need to 👏🏻. This would be a good DQ game for me to go out on as I don't forsee 🔮 any more mobile installments anytime soon. This was the first game app where I used the cloud ⛅ save feature which allows the player to protect their saved progress even if the game is uninstalled (you can reinstall the game on Google Play for 🚫 additional 💰). ⚠ NOTE: Upload to update ⬆ cloud, synchronize to update your 📱⬇ from the cloud 👀. This game and DQ 5️⃣ vie for the top spot in this series so don't miss playing this one. ✌🏻
