***Starting and playing offline. Landscape mode. 1) Start the app. 2) Select game version, Shining Force 1, 2, or Shining in the Darkness. 3) Press 'Start' Button, bottom center of screen. 4) Select left window, labeled 'Single', for offline play. Once in - game you'll have to find the in - game save location, usually a church, shrine, or tavern, etc, just like if you were playing on original console. If you select the 'Save' icon in the upper right corner, that is for online save.***

A superb throwback to the genesis era. Three of the best games available on that platform enhanced but not altered. Save states are a game changer and the rewind feature is useful as well. Do yourself a savor and pick these up and splurge for the ad removal. Let hope for more of these in the future.

The original Shining Force was the first RPG game I ever finished, and the first series outside of Super Mario I bought all of. Thank you SO SO SO much for bringing it to mobile. I love it still.

Despite what some say, offline play is possible - in my experience I simply started the game for the first time, input my age, then exited the game at the title screen. Airplane mode, then start again... the game will complain about not being online, but will still let you play. AFAIK, all this means is that you won't get any online benefits, like being able to save anywhere you want. You can still save with the in-game option. This works for the Phantasy Star Classics too.

Previously no major issues with the game, but recently asked to give access to app including real name, email, address, etc... not stuff an app should ask for in my opinion, so im uninstalling. I can handle ads, but not okay with some random company having all my personal information under the sun stored on an unsecure system ready for sale to advertisers or some other nefarious use...nope.

Great game. I would have to sign in my google account and then download the save spot. Not only that, I played from the Android tablet to my cell phone, But of course I would have to sign in first. Although it is a hassle, I get three games. And I have already spent over 10 hours on the original Shining in the Darkness, the game that got me into RPGs. Great nostalgia game to those that have played it.
