Edit: You can only play East matches with Red Fives. As a result, matches feel more based on luck than skill. No updates in 3 months. 3/5 Original review: I, for one, am hooked! The addition of Ranked Mode adds an intensity that no CPU-based Mahjong game can match. I also appreciate that there are no cat girls/gacha. One gripe is that you can't turn off discard suggestions. I find myself disagreeing with the suggestions, so they only end up distracting me. 5/5

Pretty good so far, hopefully Sega keeps it updated in English. Very simple and straightforward, finds a match quick. Odd that they decided to bring it over here now, since apparently the app came out in 2013 in Japan(according to a Google search). The app does feel a little dated in appearance, but works fine. No real complaints. Commentary in English is hilariously cheesy, in the best possible way. Almost makes the whole game for me, because it's so over the top for something so mundane. Would like a simple tutorial, with a glossary of terms and list of possible hands(similar to what has been included in the Yakuza games). Would be helpful for newer players, and people like me that can't remember what half the terminology means.

I've played a bunch of matches now. Gameplay is quick and fluid, commentary is fun but gets repetitive. The app is very bare bones so far, hopefully they decide to port over more features such as private rooms and a tutorial for beginners so I can get others playing. I wouldn't say no to some gacha characters either. Still, if you already know how to play and want to play on your phone, this is a great way to do it.

Game is good, attractive, but sparse in this English version. No tutorials, training, minimal personal customization. No prestige to really chase for. No in-game yaku list. It's Mahjong, but right now is pretty unfriendly to new players, when it could be (and I'm told is, in Japan) a comprehensive introduction for new players from a trusted name in gaming. I hope to see this app grow in the West, but right now I can only recommend it to Mahjong fans who are not somehow already playing on the Japanese version.

A very good riichi mahjong app in the sea of matching games. It has some nice assist features if you're still learning like me. The music, sound effects, and commentator add some intensity to what is usually a pretty quiet game. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to have the proper aspect ratio for my Google pixel. A very good localization job overall and definitely worth playing.

Great localization from the Japanese version. Match making is quick and gameplay is fast paced enough. The commentator is spectacular. The voice is actually easy to understand, explaining well of how player performs and its really fun to listen to the commentary. Lack of any customization (including the gacha mechanic) is unfortunate. But for a first step, its really well done.
