Build That Atomic Thing provides practice in understanding and learning basic subatomic particle relationships that are important to understanding nuclear reactions and radioactive decay and atomic structure.
Designed for students who want to learn about the relationship between mass number, atomic number, and ionic charge. The app has 3 activities: 1 - Build that Nucleus, 2 – Build that Atom, and 3– Build that Atom or Ion. The player has to adjust the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons to produce the particle displayed. A study page is available which explains the relationship between the various attributes of the atomic particles.
The player sets the number of examples (max 10) and then proceeds to build the particle by tapping arrow keys to adjust numbers.
