Easy to play, great appearance and fun story. (edit after this) Having now played this game for a while, I find my appetite to play still exists, normally by this point, having beaten the available story, I get bored. I'm not, I enjoy the leveling system for both the characters and their skills, and you feel good upon limit breaking them. The story so far in the main quests and side quests are fantastic and differ from the original Overlord story. Their dedication to make this a similar and yet different tale comes through well and I have enjoyed these unknown twists to the plot and how it has changed up how certain characters act in this world. Like many gacha based RPG games, there is an element of grinding you must be willing to endure to maximize your characters strengths and abilities. As well as randomness in what you will get you when you pull. Though I have been disappointed at times by what I have gotten, I also have managed to get characters that I love, regardless of the tier rank online and with the combination of chaos relics (another gatcha grab item) you can take these characters and make them work well in the game and for grinding. The multiplayer element is great, allowing you to go into some side quests with other players around the world to farm for supplies or complete story missions and receive special goods. I have seen many kind players who take people who are low levelled through a high level item grind in order to help them along the way. So, to sum it up, this game has a great story, fun gameplay, a bit of risk with the gatcha system, but an excellent fan base that will at times help those struggling to push forward. A great game filled with love from creators and players.

Visually the game is pretty neat, as the characters have animations and different skills and attacks. It is also some what based on overlord even though the story behind it has changed. You can tell they have put in an effort in creating a story, which is pretty cool. Many games over look it... and sometimes skip it. [From this alone I would rate it a 5/5.] The game lacks of content. You can finish up all the quests pretty quick (week or 2), leaving you with little left to do. Basically waiting for the next event where you have another 20 missions and left to wait again. [This is -1, putting it at 4/5] Another downside is that there is a ton of content, stories, and characters for the JP version of the game, yet they are missing from the Global version... which is a bit sad. [Another -1, putting it at 3/5] From the above I would rate the game a 3/5. Cool, story, animations, lore, related to Overlord... but lacks content. However I have a MAJOR problem with it. Its worse than gambling, and I question if its legal... or at the very least it should n't be rated "EVERYONE". Prices go above $60, and on average you see things marked $30 if not more. They use underarm tactics by mixing in paid currencies (chaos stones) with earned currency... yet still, only allow you to use paid currencies on paid stuff. How are you supposed to know? They make it extremely difficult to find out how many you have. You have to attempt to buy something, which it will then tell you. There also isn't a way to trade or sell the things you do buy, meaning you ultimately get stuck with a digital item, that you don't know how long will be usable. The game could shut down tomorrow and your screwed. While that is all bad, potentially the worst thing is that you don't have a way to sync your account. It uses some weird ID thing. If something happens to your phone... you are screwed... its all gone. I know someone will say its like buying trading cards... but it isn't. You have those forever and they are typically used for a game you can play forever... and you can also sell them afterwards. Because of how they handle purchases, not being able to trade / sell and without knowing how long the game will be up, and of course not being able to sync the account I'm going to rate this game a 1/5. I LOVE OVERLORD. I've spent 4+ years reading the WN, LN, manga, anime, drama cds and following the lore, so I really wanted to love this game... which I do. Its just, YIKES. If they could fix some of those things, add a quest you can redo unlimited number of times, or make it sync with your gmail. I would probably rate it 5/5... but since it so heavily relies on the gambling, and insights kids into it. That's a bit messed up, I don't think Ainz-sama would approve. At least I'm not going to be the one to ask him if its OK to scam his children.

So far so good. The introduction of a new and unique storyline got me more engaged into the game. However, there are some slight issues. First the option to download or skip cutscene becomes quite annoying. Furthermore, I chose to do the full download option which I thought would bypass this issue but did not. Next of course with any gacha game, the draw rate for character is not helpful. I also think the system for paid stones and free ones don't really help with rates.

Really REALLY cash grabby. Chances of summoning a 5 star character are near nothing. 40 draws and all duplicates. That should tell you something. Gameplay is good, as are the graphics, but the level recommendations for the levels are meaningless. I had a team of two 5 star characters and two 4 star characters. They were all level 45. A boss in a (recommended) level 25 level killed all of them in one hit. (Edit) I did 120 summons. 120 chances at a 5 star character. I got one. WAY too low.

Ok every time when they add storys/ mission/ etc.. The chaos crystals are so low, short and pitiful to get. Now they release the chaos filed with less chaos crystals. Im thinking that playing the game is way too long and not really worth grinding. Plus the storys are getting more longer and less battles with small rewards.

I really want to like this game. It can be quite fun most of the time. But the summon rates are complete trash. I could spend hours or days trying to grind up chaos stones only to get a summon full of 3-star units. Or if I do get a 5-star it's just dupes of trash units or chaos relics. Also the new Christmas step-up banners are suddenly exclusive to paid stones now. Absolutely unacceptable.
