It is the year 2345 and Earth is doomed. Thirty years ago, mankind set out to explore the stars. We discovered signs of intelligent life, unfortunately, it was not benign. The Malum are a warlike race with one goal, to eradicate every other form of life from the galaxy. Earth sent a peace envoy to try to negotiate a truce with the Malums but they destroyed our ship. A bloody thirty-year war began with the Malums and the Earth fleet fought bravely but we were outnumbered and destroyed. Nothing stands in the way of the Malum’s fleet and Earth’s destruction.

In a desperate effort to ensure the survival of the human race a worldwide evacuate is currently taking place. Sadly the Malum’s fleet is advancing too fast and there isn’t enough time to evacuate the Earth and the Malums have unleased their energy blocks which will destroy the Earth.

However scientists have been working non-stop to try and counter this threat. They have discovered that by using tractor beam technology they can manipulate these energy blocks to create a horizontal axis across Earth’s atmosphere that could parts of these blocks to be rendered useless and evaporate.

Once these blocks accumulate in the atmosphere and reach the top, Earth will be destroyed. We can’t save Earth using this technology but we can slow down the accumulation of energy blocks to give the Earth’s evacuation fleet a flighting chance to get away.

You are Space Captain Rick Proton. You have volunteered to stay behind to use the tractor beam technology to delay Earth’s destruction and help the evacuation fleet to take as many people as possible to safety.

The longer you hold off the accumulation of energy blocks in Earth’s atmosphere the more lives you will save. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. Good luck Space Captain!
