The points one makes changes from game to game. Many times I prepare incredible hands and the game doesn't count one specific strategy. Plus usability issues like not tilting the screen other than the fixed counterclockwise direction, the annoying adds and closing the game everytime I connect/disconnect the charger

Actual Mahjong game; not matching game. Chinese scoring. Intuitive interface. Non-gimicky. Ads only after hand. I would buy a copy for a non-ads version. Easy to read tiles. Would like more options such as slowing down opponents. Great app.

Had been playing the game for a few weeks. The way the points are calculated are pretty different from the usual actual game play but it was still OK. But during this last game I played, I didn't even manage to click on any card, and the app picked the card to throw out for me and made me lose $3400 (34 points). There was NO WAY I would have thrown that card out if I were to choose. Uninstalling this game immediately.

It keeps freezing after a particular ad, no way around it except closing the game app

Great offline mahjong with big tile icons that are easy on the eyes. A great future idea: a feature where you can connect with your friends phone and play a game against each other (if there are less than 4 people, fill in the rest with AI).

Nice. Actually quite addictive, so I uninstalled it. The scoring is quite different to traditional Chinese Mahjong (perhaps this is the American scoring system) - it would be better if the player could choose from the various scoring systems that exist .

About this app

The game is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols, although some regional variations may omit some tiles and/or add unique tiles. In most variations, each player begins by receiving 13 tiles. In turn players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand using the 14th drawn tile to form 4 melds (or sets) and a pair (eye). A player can also win with a small class of special hands. There are fairly standard rules about how a piece is drawn, how a piece is robbed from another player, the use of simples (numbered tiles) and honors (winds and dragons), the kinds of melds allowed, how to deal the tiles and the order of play. Despite these similarities, there are many regional variations to the rules including rather different scoring systems, criteria for legal winning hands and even private table rules which distinguish some variations as notably different styles of mahjong.
