Ang kára’y krus (mula sa Espanyol na cara y cruz, literal na “mukha at krus”) ay isang laro ng paghula kung ano ang mukhang lilitaw pagbagsak ng inihagis na barya. Ang isang mukha ng barya noon ay may nakaukit na tao (ang kara) at ang kabilâng mukha ay may nakaukit na ibon (ang krus). Kaya tinatawag din itong “tao o ibon” sa pook Katagalugan. Sa Ingles, tinatawag namang “head or tail,” ang head ang tao at ang tail ang ibon. Malimit ngayong “kara krus” na lang bigkas.



Sa toss coin, nilalaro ito ng dalawang tao at isang barya lámang ang kailangan. Isa ang maghahagis ng barya at sasaluhin ito at tutukupin sa palad. Ang kalaro ang huhula kung tao o ibon ang lalantad na mukha ng barya kapag ibinukás ang palad.



Sa isang maramihang laro ng kara’y krus, kailangan ang dalawang barya. Isa ang bangka o tagahagis at may mga tagapusta. Kailangan ng tagahagis ang dalawang kara o tao pagbagsak ng inihagis niyang mga barya para manalo. Kapag dalawang krus o ibon ang lumantad, talo siyá at panalo ang mga tagapusta. Kung isang kara at isang krus ang lumitaw at tabla at uulitin ang paghahagis.



Laro ito kapag katuwaan lámang. Ngunit ang kara’y krus ay sugal kapag salapi na ang ginagamit na pusta. May mga propesyonal na manunugal ng kara’y krus. May paraan din ng pandaraya, gaya ng paggawa ng barya na tao ang magkabilâng mukha. (VSA)
