The Problem i have with this app is that it reduces your Elo points even when you exit the game which is actually quite bad . Even if you do the puzzle correctly in 2 or 3 attempts they count it as a lost puzzle which is again bad .

I had better solutions then your puzzle.. in one case I could see mate in two moves, but you said there was a better move.. think not.. Also if I switched out of puzzle to do other things.. It would not return to the same puzzle. No I don't think so.. it was so obvious as to my solution. Tell me how and I will double check.

I like the tactics app really much. It is one of the best out there and I tried a lot of them. I have two requests for further improvements. To be able to use the app in landscape mode. And an option to jump quickly to the start or to end of the variation by long pressing the forward or backward button, in the Solution and Analysis view. Maybe by pressing the navigation button by one second or so. Than a quick press on the navigation button would move one move forwards or backward, (like it is now). And a longer press, (one second or so), on the navigation button would jump to the start or to the end of the variation.

Has this suddenly got harder? My scores have plummeted recently. Now my scores are getting lower why aren't the puzzles getting easier? As a chess trainer it's stopped working for me recently when I was previously doing so well. I'm concerned that my brain may be degenerating. (Additional) Thanks for your reply. I decided to uninstall and start again and things seem to be improving, maybe that's psychological. I should have added that this is a great trainer which I've mostly enjoyed

favorite free chess puzzle app i've found yet. i disabled some permissions it doesn't need and it still runs. note: it is looking for the "best" move. if you can mate in 2, it will not accept a mate in 3 senario. very stiff, but still very fun.
