The best educational games don't reward learning with gameplay. They turn the learning into the game, showing the intrinsic challenge and reward in doing the subject, in this case math. Counting Kingdom does this perfectly, and stands as an excellent example of what an educational game SHOULD be.

I grew up on the educational games of the 90's; and this game hits that nostalgia sweet spot! The levels are all dynamically generated, so the replay value is endless!! And, as long as the monsters you're trying to destroy are touching you can add them up. All that freedom really lets you dig into your creative side. You focus on chaining monsters togethers for larger scores, and deciding how to best use the potions and spells at your disposal causing the math to blend into the game as part of the overall puzzle. It's definitely a charming, educational game that I keep coming back to whenever I have time to spare!
