Well, it was certainly fun. But, no story and seemingly no direction. I don't even know if this game has an end. All I know is I grinded and constantly refreshed vendors inventory to get the best items (once rolled a short staff +12 for like 29k gold). All in all I feel like I've been everywhere, even killed the skeleton king and I dont see if there is an end. But i digress, it is still fun. I am a real fan of the tactics based combat. I liked that you could choose only to move OR attack, not both. So it made it real strategic. However, I have only died once. not too hard for an RPG.

I love these kind of rpgs, but a few things to nitpick about i guess. It'd be nice to have an objective as it seems to not have one, just go around exploring in a seemingly endless grindfest. But most importantly because of the grindfest, i just wish there were cloud saves or something because since switching phones I have to start over :-/

Good classic. Dragon Warrior/Pre Final Fantasy RPG. The Sequels are Way Better

Really good! If you want the nostalga of a spectrum emulator but longer and with more play time then this is your game. Takes about as much space as a funny GIF and is a good foothold to let your imagination run wild. The only improvement i could suggest is a "your quest is to kill braka" at the beginning and a "you're winner!" end message to let you know that you can switch to Gurk II. Loved playing this game for 5 years and i'm genuinely exited to pick up Gurk II. Thank you Larva Labs.

This is a game I first downloaded YEARS ago. I make sure that I have all 3 Gurk games on my phone at all times. The first one is perfect for anyone wanting to get their feet wet or take the deep dive. It's grindy, the combat can be intimidating when you roll a very hard encounter and without any Mana or Health potions in the first Gurk (unlike G2 and G3), you have to learn to manage your spells on Gorlok accordingly. Can you defeat Braka the Terrible? I dare you to try. I double dare you!
