im spades the card suit led is the one to follow. i have found that if a second card is played that is a spade, being third i am required to play a spade rather than the suit that has been led.

Spades suit cannot be played until the suit is broken. Not in this game. I also cannot tell whether I am playing by myself or as a partner.
