Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing RuneScape on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

It's a shame the beta ended at the same time it got updated. I think Jagex should be running a constant beta until launch instead of 1-2 week tests followed by months of silence on mobiles progress.

Almost perfect

It's great because it's on mobile. First of all there are massive graphical bugs with skinning on tree models. I have screenshots I'm going to put in my review once the beta is fully over. A tree actually had a frawn as a sword and some other parts were armor and stuff like as if it was a flag. The biggest issue is the keyboard at the GE it never pops up for searching items so you have to hop back onto PC. There is also an issue with the bank pin. You press a number and then that tile is blank. So if that tile has your next number it's not visible. Other than that got a 99 on there recorded so that made for something unique. That just reminded me particle effects are straight up squares and anything with bloom is pure white.

It's really shity whenever you're a legacy only player and it tells you that it switched it all to evolution of combat trash. Jagex remember who your original customers are. Last, it's amazing that you've already forgotten that the evolution of combat almost destroyed this games community entirely.

Firstly the keyboard causes crashes on populated worlds like 2, also I thought I requested the invite to old school? Is there a way to switch? Happy to test rs3 but really want old school that's where my playtime is spent. Please help!!!!!

For being still in test mode, so far not bad to go do. When lagging to log in, Try closing app, and all background apps.

DATA USAGE:

We recommend you begin by playing over a WiFi connection, as the game caches a large amount of data (roughly 6GB total). Please keep an eye on your data usage when out and about!

BASIC CONTROLS:

Environment:
* Tap to interact and move your character around the world.
* Press and drag one finger to rotate the camera.
* Pinch to zoom the camera.

Menus:
* Tap to interact with menus.
* Tap and hold briefly to open the Interaction Menu.
* Swipe to scroll through menus.
* Tap and drag to move items.
* Use four-finger downward swipe to open and close the keyboard (when not done automatically).

See pop-up in game for advanced controls and known issues.

MOBILE-SPECIFIC CHANGES:

* New camera controls incuding one-finger rotate and pinch-to-zoom.
* New chat interfaces.
* Updated combat interface.
* Updated interaction controls, including swipe to scroll through menus.
* Scaled interfaces including Grand Exchange, Make-X and Management Interfaces.

KNOWN ISSUES:

* Some handsets may encounter visual artifacts or crashes when using compressed textures. We recommend switching your texture option to uncompressed or off if you encounter problems.
* UI layouts and interactions are still work in progress.
* Tooltips can appear in the last place that was tapped.
* Camera functionality loss after interacting with device's native features.
* Some device features can cause audio to stop playing.
* Slow down due to particle effects e.g. in Treasure Hunter screen.
* Loss of data connection may cause app to become unresponsive and require a restart.
* Keyboard does not open automatically in some places, such as in the Grand Exchange. (Need to use 4-finger swipe).
* On the login screen, the Back button does not send the app to the background .(It opens and closes the keyboard instead).

NOTES:

* The game currently requires a device with at least 2GB RAM.
* Only the Global Chat tab is enabled.
* Interfaces are intentionally not movable.
