A game that Just Doesn't Work. I don't mean that it's buggy, in fact the coding is rock solid. I mean that the ideas in here haven't been properly thought out. The combat system is stupid; you and your opponent roll the dice, and the lower roll takes damage. But powering up your attack stat only increases your maximum roll. Your minimum roll is always zero, which means you can have four times higher attack than your enemy and still lose. While it does also go the other way- you can win against much stronger opponents- you also have an overall life/time limit, while the enemies just respawn. So there's no point to fighting unless enemies are in your way, and even then you're better off going around. The other major mechanic is building cities, but this is also unsatisfying because the upgrades decay unless you're around to repair them. And you can't because the timer means you have to keep moving on to the next world. It all adds up to an unsatisfying experience where you never feel like you're accomplishing anything.

Beautiful art, great animation and good playability. Unfortunately it is WAY too punishing of a game. I restarted over 20 different times, and I always get beat by an annoying mechanic. The last time, I roll 0-120 damage, and I was beat by a 0-16 roller, TWICE. You think you are advancing, then robots come beat on your places. Or you build multiple hospitals to extend your life, just to find out you cant live past 150 game lives. Make some buildings more useful and make things less random

Fun just wished there were some difficulty settings. I think I'd enjoy it more if the buildings I built lasted longer, for example.

It would be nice if a child remembers at least a local area map, not just house

Just started playing - very cool rogue game. Will review again after a few generations worth of playing!
