I actually got to play it with real people. 8 disconnected at the start, the rest played for 3 rounds and dipped. The waiting times are loooong, the game itself is not that fun, but the part with choosing what to get is fun. It has a lot of potential. As for the research, I do not know what they are trying to achieve... Uninstalled.

I know this is created for an experiment but if it can't be played without real people staying there, you won't get the data you need. I suggest you let the people waiting for others to communicate right away via a chat box so we will know that there is indeed someone waiting and willing to play with us since although your experiment suggests that it needs live players, we on the other hand aren't sure and patient enough doing nothing. A chat box should manage that while waiting for others.

No players around. I have been waiting for a minute or more. If there are not enough users, they could al least calculate some approximate waiting time or put me with some bots or leave me as a single player. The graphics give me a headache but that is fine, aesthetics are not the major reason I dislike the app

Making the gameplay structures to depend on finding more than ten people to group up with shows a deep lack of experience with MMORPGs. Early stages should involve AI practice missions or solo building to retain interest and encourage uptake. Poor game design is going to hamper this research. Think like a gamer not an academic! Get some of that starch out of your praxis...

This game isn't active 90 percent of the time. When it is its hard to use and the mining can get to be annoying. The fact that you have to wait for people to join and on top of that go thru the tutorial everytime is just making it a painstaking dull game

50% of the rocks don't break you lose time and you have to go mine another rock that could or not break, and it take so much time taking decision either slow or fast rounds.
