I really like this game, it's fun and educational, and the overall design is brilliant. However, a few tweaks here and there could be made. Yes, it lags a bit, and the purple flashes are annoying, but for the first version of the app, it's really good. Well done :)

In the help part it says learning the cryptography alphabet would help, but where are you supposed to learn it because its not on the internet and its not on the app. Add a feature to learn the cryptography alphabet and its a 5 star app. Otherwise bit of a let down

There's no real difficulty curve; once you get all letters from the 5x5 the rest of the game is just as simple as Flow because it's consistently one cipher throughout. The poor functionality (I swear if my screen flashes purple one more time) is a huge issue. There is no sound, that even the simplest games have. Concept is okay, however the 'connect' theme seems to limit the idea of cryptography. The app still needs work to meet its goals as it is short & far too easy, but it's not off to a bad start.

0/5 (if possible) extremely Laggy (feels like a 90's pc trying to play skyrim), lots of bugs, no innovative ideas. Not enough dank

How about more levels? Could you also switch off the 'error light'? It makes me really uncomfortable!

I love this game. Similar gameplay to Flow with an interesting additional challenge - Decyphering. Some levels you complete by sussing the cypher first, others by sussing the puzzle. It's really interesting and very addictive. More levels as DLC/IAP please. Would happily pay!

CryptoConnex was created by Fred, Harriet, Holly, and Paula in their Apps for Good course at Hymers College in Hull. The team were fascinated by cryptography, the process of creating secure communications. An important part of computing and everyday life, cryptography is used in everything from cash machines to computer passwords. The students felt it was too often overlooked and decided to develop a code-breaking app that would be fun and accessible to everyone.

CryptoConnex won the Learning category sponsored by Samsung at the Apps for Good Awards 2014, the national competition for Apps for Good students. As an Apps for Good Awards winner, the team worked with development agency Fuerte International to have their app built professionally and launched on to the market, with the support of Apps for Good and Samsung.

Apps for Good is an education technology movement where young people learn to create apps that change their world. Apps for Good partners with schools across the UK to deliver its course to young people aged 10-18. Find out more at www.appsforgood.org
