Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing SSTrain on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

I'd love to use this app so I can actually practise Pro freely, but it isn't working. I have all the beatmaps in their folder, and (most of) the songs in theirs (I'm still working on converting the rest to mp3), and I've hit reload beatmaps (many times), but when I press play, the screen is still empty. I've been over the whole wiki, and I can't see that I've done anything wrong. Btw, the soundfiles folder wasn't automatically created, if it makes a difference. But it should be in the right place (in the sstrain folder with beatmaps). Do you have any idea what might be going on? Edit: or maybe I'm missing Open GL? I'll try that out and fix this if it works.

Great app to practice SS or just play when you're out of stamina. Dev also responds and implements suggestions quickly. I wish the slide notes were a bit easier to pull off though, I can't seem to hit them consistently no matter how much I change the difficulty slider, even though I can do them perfectly in the real SS game.

I like it very much, but it seems so hard to use the swipe. Even though i swipe it, sometimes it misses. When there is swipe only the first note that misses, the rest of the swipe works fine i think

This app is great and even helpful. But the main problem is, i can't hear the music when i play it. How to solve this ?

I am confused with the guide soundfile. I have trouble using wireshark, please clarify instructions how to download soundfile

Ran okay before I got beatmaps and soundfiles in place, app crashes every time after that.

SSTrain is a sister project to SIFTrain, It's been open sourced in order to help players train for songs to their heart's content.

The app comes without any content. However, I've created sample beatmaps (without mp3/sound files) which can be found on the repo located at: https://github.com/kbz/SSTrainBeatmapRepo

Please be aware that I have a limited amount of time to work on this app, so if you have any comments, don't hesitate to send em in.

There won't be a community for sharing maps for this apps, as I'm working on improvements to join both projects into a single app. Anyone interested in making maps should use the existing samples as reference.

Notes:
* Recommended AR speed is 8+ (default: 6)
* Recommended OD setting is 5+ (default 7)

Known issues:
* Playback Rate
* Play Mode (Normal/A-B Repeat)

These modes are experimental and have limitations.
If the playback rate is different from 1x, there wont be music during the playthrough.
Using random values for the startting note in A-B repeat mode may result in a general de-sync between music and beatmap, please try different values until they come in-sync (Multiples of 3 seconds seem to grant the best results for the starting time)

*This app requires OpenGL ES 2.0 to run. Android 2.2 may be unsupported*
