About this app

WikiChains is based on the hypothesis of six handshakes, i.e. that all people in the world can be linked together within six acquaintances. Instead of individuals, try to find the way between two Wikipedia articles. Navigate from the first to the second article with as few steps (click on links) as you can.

The idea of using Wikipedia articles for this is not new. The uniqueness of WikiChains is that the application supports six languages (English, Swedish, French, Spanish, German, and Chinese), and that it allows the user to start from completely random articles.

Note: WikiChains has no relation or intention to represent Wikimedia Foundation Inc. in any way. Links to articles displayed in this application can be obtained by adding the article to a "read later" list. By clicking on articles in this list, the user is redirected to wikipedia.org where the author of the text can be found.
