Initially I found the rules confusing, so be sure to swipe left and read the instructions if you're struggling. Once you get the hang of it this is so addictive! Better than Words with Friends! Really works your mind without even realising it! And I'm sure with updates it will get even better... Hop on board now, so you can tell your mates you were into it before it was cool!

Once you get the hang of it this app is pretty addictive (* ^_^ *) It's different, it's clever and will get the grey matter working in this twisted word play experience.

Put your skills to the test with Educe, a unique word game that will build your vocabulary and get your brain all in a twist. 

More than just a word search, puzzle or crossword, Educe, which means ‘to bring out or develop the potential of something’, is about creating new words within and around other words. 

HOW IT WORKS

• Download and get ready to steal words
• Choose your desired level from easy to hard: Pickpocket, Bandit or Mastermind
• Play against one, two or three players
• Steal your opponent’s words by adding letters from your own hand to extend them into new words: ‘sad’ becomes ‘sand’, then ‘stand’, ‘understand’, ‘misunderstand’, ‘misunderstanding’ until you can lock it away with ‘misunderstandings’.
• Win more points with every word you steal
• Steal as many words as you can each turn
• The more steals a word gets the higher its points value
• And the player with the most points wins!

ABOUT US - THE FOUNDERS

Tracing the origins of Educe means going all the way back to the eighties, a time before the internet. People still read books in libraries and Duran Duran and Lionel Richie ruled the charts. 

Educe inventor and crossword nerd Rod Smith was working as a psychiatrist and spending many hours on the road. It was out on these lonely Australian highways, with only the trucks, utes and Combi vans for company, that the magic finally happened. Staring at number plates all day, Rod began playing with the letters to build words and phrases; CSG 007 to Crossing, ECT 525 to Electric. Rod imagined stealing words from other players to create more words – Electric turned to Electronic and Crossing became Crisscrossing – and he wondered how he might ‘defend’ his own words from potential word thieves.

Rod dubbed his new creation, Highway Robbery and set about making a card game. But wasn’t until a New Year’s Eve dinner many years later, when the cards came out, the game was played and the people were happy, that a friend said, “You should make an app”. And just like that, the card game was reborn as Educe.
