Using BlueStacks

About this app

Games nowadays can become predictable, which results in players losing interest. The
reason being players can memorize the layouts of the levels and plan an optimal route.
Dream On is a 2D platformer whereby the primary goal of the player is to rescue the
girl. It features mechanics of generic platformers such as running, jumping and
stomping on enemies. What’s unique is that the game utilizes procedural generation in
order to determine the layout of the level each time a level is loaded. The algorithm
used is based on the algorithm used in Spelunky, by Derek Yu, which takes
predesigned chunks and arranges them procedurally in order to create the complete
level. Each chunk is designed to be able to fit modularly with other chunks.Dream On
takes this a step further and allows the players to create and load their own level
designs which the algorithm will then use to create a custom level. The algorithm will
randomly select from the default chunks if the type needed is not available. In short, The
final program fulfils its objectives. Further improvements and enhancements can still be
made.
