About this app

MyNewStart is a quiz app that educates men, women, parent and the community in order to create a supportive environment for men who want to get circumcised.

After years of research, HIV professionals now widely consider Medical Male Circumcision (MMC) as one of the most promising interventions for the prevention of female-to-male sexually-transmitted HIV. Research conducted in random controlled trials in South Africa, Uganda and Kenya have shown that medical male circumcision will have the greatest impact on the HIV epidemic in areas where HIV prevalence is high, but where circumcision is not widely practiced. Inspired by these findings, SFH seeks to provide high quality, cost effective medical male circumcision services to South African men.

SFH and its partners are creating informed demand for medical male circumcision and increasing access to safe medical male circumcision services for adolescents and men. Our communication also targets women, parents and community leaders, in order to create a supportive environment for the men who want to get circumcised. SFH promotes healthy social norms around the procedure and post-operative sexual behaviours, and encourage individual behaviour change.
