This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing EduCITY on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

A app EduCITY (https://educity.web.ua.pt/) permite explorar a cidade através de jogos educativos de localização que integram recursos multimédia em realidade aumentada (RA), com vista à mudança de atitudes dos cidadãos em prol do desenvolvimento sustentável.
A ideia é promover cidades sustentáveis, criando um ambiente inteligente de aprendizagem suportado pela app EduCITY. Esta app dá acesso a jogos educativos com desafios interdisciplinares atrativos, pois integram recursos multimédia em RA, como simulações com base em dados de sensores ambientais, animações 3D, spots informativos, entre outros. Os jogos são desenvolvidos com o objetivo de serem explorados por cidadãos, de todas as idades, em passeios pela cidade, sendo cocriados pela comunidade escolar, académica e geral, através de uma plataforma web aberta (https://educity.web.ua.pt/adminjogos/index.php). Esta pedagogia inovadora usa tecnologia familiar (dispositivos móveis) para “aprender fazendo”, na qual os jogos em RA permitem consciencialização ambiental na cidade – laboratório vivo de experimentação – onde os cidadãos são “cientistas ativos” e agentes de mudanças sustentáveis, numa lógica de ciência cidadã.
A app EduCITY foi desenvolvida no âmbito do projeto “EduCITY – Cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis com jogos educativos móveis em Realidade Aumentada criados por e para os Cidadãos”, com financiamento da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (ref.ª PTDC/CED-EDG/0197/2021), de 2022 a 2024. Neste projeto colaboram quatro unidades de investigação: CIDTFF, CESAM, DigiMedia e IEETA da Universidade de Aveiro.
