Great app to play German wist. It saves your game if you do not have time to finish it and it runs smoothly. The adverts are not a problem.

I love this game. I cannot figure out how it is decided who plays first

I love this game......but only downfall is that the cards are very close together and if a card is played in error there is no way to undo the play. There probably should be an option to ask....are you sure you want to play this card?

Entirely different than other card games. Liked the value of "sluffing". Neat two handed card game!

AI a little predictable. Would like more options.

About this app

German Whist (or Hamburg Whist) was the first game Coppercod created and is still one of our top card games to play, both on the app and offline. Play now on your smartphone or tablet!

Free to play. Track your Stats. Take on smart AI.

This fun game is a two-player variation of classic Whist, a great game to learn card skills, relax and enjoy.

The aim of the game is to take more tricks than your opponent. The winner is the first player to reach the win target, either 10, 25 or 50 points. Make sure to track your all time and session stats to follow your improvement as you learn!

You can also customise your colour themes and card decks to choose from to keep the landscape interesting!

Quickfire Rules:
German Whist is divided into two sections: the Foreplay and the Endgame. During the foreplay, players select cards from their hand in order to win or lose cards turned over from the main deck. In the endgame, they play their resulting hands against each other to win tricks.

A card is beaten either by a higher card of the same suit, or any Trump card. Once a card is played, other players must play a card from the same suit. If they do not hold any cards from this suit, they may choose to Trump, or Throw Away by playing any non-trump card.

One point is scored for every trick a player wins over six in ‘Last 13’ scoring, or every trick over 13 in ‘Every Trick’ scoring mode.
