A really fun and interesting game, that reminds me of old hex and counter games. Love operational strategy games? Have a seat General!

This game brings back so many fond memories from my youth...in cardboard, now available in the palm of my hand. Numerous ways to customize the game to make it perfect for each player. Easy to play or to turn into a days-long challenge...you get out of it what you put into it. Congrats on another great game.

About this app

Battle of the Bulge is a turn based strategy game set on the Western Front during the Second World War. From by Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011

The historical battle took place in December 1944 in the Ardennes, Belgium, where American forces fought against a large German offensive. It was the largest land battle of World War II in which the United States directly participated.

In the game, you are in control of the US armed forces and command American infantry, airborne, and armored divisions. Your first task is to survive the initial German onslaught, known as the Ardennes Offensive, while keeping your divisions in fighting order. After regrouping, you must contain the German attack and prevent the enemy from reaching Brussels, as this would allow them a route to the strategic port city of Antwerp. Once you have stopped the enemy offensive, push back the German units and destroy as many as possible.

The game is over if:
+ Germans reach over 150 Victory Points, or
+ Germans control less than 10 Victory Points.

"This is undoubtedly the greatest American battle of the the Second World War and will, I believe, be regarded as an ever-famous American victory."
-- Winston Churchill, addressing the House of Commons after the Battle of the Bulge

FEATURES:

+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.

+ Competitive: Measure your skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.

+ Experienced units learn new skills, like improved attack or defence performance, ability to cross rivers without losing move points.

+ Settings: A massive list of options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Switch between terrain themes, change difficulty level, resource types, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, or Square), decide what is drawn on the map, change font and hexagon sizes.

+ Two Icon Sets: Real or NATO-styled units.

+ Tablet friendly strategy game: Automatically scales the map for any physical screen size/resolution from small smartphones to HD tablets, while settings allow you to fine tune hexagon and font sizes.

+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup, and uses the names and locations of the divisions that saw combat during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.

The Allied intelligence had many indications of the incoming German attack, but all these were not properly amalgamated into a singular warning. This info included: establishment of the new 6th Panzer Army in the build-up area, consolidation of all the nearby armor divisions under one signal group, the greatest urgency daily aerial reconnaissance of the target area by new Arado Ar 234 jets, massive increase in railway traffic in the build-up area and acquisition of 1,000 trucks from the Italian front, fourfold increase of Luftwaffe fighter forces in the West, intercepted Japanese diplomatic signals from Berlin to Tokyo mentioning the coming offensive, etc.
