Play games against other players through Google Play Games. Just choose a starting color and you will be automatically paired.
Play unlimited games at once, with smart turn notifications

📊 Advanced Computer levels
20 skill levels to choose from, grouped by: novice, beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert, pro. Pro = Grandmaster strength. Can you take it on?
Moves are generated using Stockfish, a leading open source engine.

🤝Over the Board
Don’t have a chess board or clock to play with? No problem - play OTB! The pieces will appear facing each player. Fix the pace of the game using presets on the timer.

🎩Expert playing features
Premoves: Make a move or series of moves while it is your opponent’s turn, the same way you would otherwise play moves - the moves will be made automatically once it’s your turn.
Analyze your game: After the game is completed by the rules of chess or otherwise, click “Review Game” from the game console button bar. Stockfish 8 shows the winning side, >0 for white, <0 for black. Customize for as many simultaneous analysis lines as you please to learn better moves from the strongest chess engine out there

*Castling in 960 variant requires the following resolution for castling: The king and rook land on the same squares on the corresponding side as in standard chess.

New features

Added a 'Take-Back' feature for sparring against the computer. Blunders, blunder, blunders,... misclicks, the computer will always grant a redo on a move.

Added a 'Confirm Move' feature to be extra certain a click plays the intended move. Ideal for longer time controls. Note the default is turned-off. From within the app, go to Preferences > Game Play > Confirm Move and set to checked.

App Permissions

Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
