Amazing app!!! It's got that good ol fashion non-partisan presentation of facts and I found that of the initial five questions to be pretty evenly split between democratic and Republican politicians and is blunt on the level of transparency being presented by the politicians. (Although I have found I was getting a slight delay when scrolling down, so that when the I'm trying to see the bottom where the name of the person is it felt like I was going to swipe up on the screen?-tech)

The game is very strange. Statements are taken entirely out of context, but the truth or falsity that you're giving us the final answer reflects the total context. So if you read the statement and make an assessment of the literal accuracy of the statement you can easily get the wrong answer by failing to know what they are really assessing. A person can make a statement that is fundamentally true but does not support a larger point. If you say that that statement is true and then you are told you got it wrong, the answer is typically because the context is what they were judging not the statements accuracy. Makes it impossible to play unless you're familiar with the entire context of every statement given.

Extremely biased, but what would you expect from politifact? Even if you're economically illiterate and love being a good government lap dog this is still a horrendous app. glitches, makes no sense because there's absolutely no introduction, and its impossible to scroll due to the developers wanting to use the tinder-esque swipe left/right feature.

Very confusing, Some questions you have to determine if they were said by the person being quoted and some you have to determine if the context is true or not. There were statements that I disagreed with the validity, but then I wasn't sure if I should vote based on that or whether it was an actual quote. There were several instances where I knew the facts were incorrect, yet I voted true, because I was saying "yes, it's true that this person stated an incorrect fact". The app needs some work!

Fun reality education.

A great concept, and one that really needs to be available in this day and age. The wording on a number of the questions/claims is vague, and I found myself getting them wrong simply due to not understanding what it was asking me, even though I knew the news piece about it. A bit more polish would be a welcome addition, but on the whole, nicely done.

About this app

PolitiTruth is a non-profit game of distinguishing political fact from fiction.

Swipe left to guess a news story is false and swipe right to guess it is true. The game is made in partnership with the Pulitzer Prize winning organization PolitiFact in the hopes of encouraging players to better discern sources of information while gathering beneficial statistics on public misconceptions. By tapping into our competitive nature, we hope to expand political consciousness.

Guesses are anonymously saved online to show how your political awareness compares to other players, and to help identify the stories people get wrong most often.

Data on public misconceptions in politics is highly reliant on surveys and our hope is with a large audience of people playing, we can make these statistics more robust and reduce response bias.

The game is premiering at E3 2017 through the IndieCade showcase.

PolitiTruth was created by Christopher Cinq-Mars Jarvis and is part of Cinq-Mars Media, a 501(c)3 devoted to education.
