The story is interesting and well written, although the ending lacks some amount of closure. I hope to see a sequel in the future, perhaps detailing further adventures as a squire, or adventures in knighthood, but even as it stands this is an excellent Choice Of game. In addition to compelling characters and plot, the game has an abundance of replayability. The first few chapters are an accurate representation of the game as a whole, so if you enjoy the free portion, its definitely worth buying.

Great game but the ending needs works. Was very anticlimactic to have it just say "oh you won and are famous now this happened" Really hoping for a sequel A: because it's a good game and B: because it basically teases us with one hinting at so many things for the entire game

Way too overpriced for only 150,000 words. No game should be 2.99 ON SALE for only 150,000 words, of which we only see about 20-40%. Writing is meh, not bad but not good. Game is way too quick. If this game was $1-$2 tops, I would recommend it. But as it is, it's not worth the price. If you want a good medieval game worth the price, play War for the West or The Great Tournament.

A fun story! People need to stop complaining about having to pay for these things, I'm sorry but the author's spend a lot of time making these and just because you are too broke to pay £3 for it doesn't give you the right to complain. Seeing constant reviews on all these CYOA games saying "But muh paywall" gets old fast. If you want something for free go write your own book.

The first chapter is quite detailed, something i appreciated, but the other chapters are, in comparison, very short. Overall not bad, but it feels as if it was rushed after the first chapter was written.

Ok so like why do most of the choice games i download have a fricking paywall like srrsly i love their games but its just unacceptable like honestly i love life of a mercenary and choice of the dragon neither of them have paywalls like it just rlly bothers me i would rate 5 stars but the paywall is just a complete and utter deal breaker.

About this app

Battle evil faeries and traitors at court to rescue the prince of England! Can you resist the call of faerie long enough to complete your quest?

"A Squire's Tale" is a 150,000-word interactive fantasy novel by Benjamin Appleby-Dean, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

The prince's abduction has tipped the country toward civil war, and your Lady has been sent on a secret mission to recover him. Save the heir apparent, and you could finally earn your knighthood and leave your squiring days behind. But when your search leads you to a magical market in the middle of nowhere, your loyalties and your Lady are put to the test.

Will you join with the faeries, or deny their existence? Journey further from court and comfort, or seek to rationalize the impossibilities in front of you? As you hunt for clues and amass allies, you’ll master the knightly arts of music, combat, riding, and even falconry. Emerge victorious in the tournament, and you may even win a kiss. But stay focused on your quest--you'll need all your skills to survive the tricks of Faerie and discover the truth behind the prince's disappearance.
