Unfortunately, the writing made this story unenjoyable for me. The story could have been a really interesting one, but the story was entirely too linear. Your choices make very little difference in the outcome. The relationships were lackluster, with very little effort needed. Even the main character had almost no personality. I felt very detached from the entire experience and I likely wont replay it, unlike so many other COGs. If you want a linear heist, I guess you'll enjoy this, but if you want an immersive story where your choices actually matter, this one isn't for you.

Way bettter than i thought it was going to be. And that is saying a lot i normally hate hiest moves (games/books). Fun story with alot of paths for you too take. But i feel like some aare just far easier and better in general. Like there is never a time i felt like i needed more Muscle. Also this may have been purposely done but no one character is described look wise. Also ending seemed rushed

"it's okay" sums it up perfectly. i don't usually mind linear stories as long as it makes up in characters and personality. and it doesn't. the MC is bland the ro's and plot are meh and its disappointing bc there's SO much potential. but it's certainly not the worst thing thats come out of choice of/hosted that's for sure

Short and simple. The story is very predictable and there are very few lasting choices. The relationship between characters is chosen at the start and you don't need to put effort in to be well-liked or loved. The endings are also very boring.

Solid story and clean playthrough, with a strong ending. Only ran through once, but could tell it has distinct paths available for multiple plays that are highly influenced by the character you build.

Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid; characters are bland and hard to get attached to. At this point, I'd recommend Delight Games for character-driven storylines, even if they are a lot more linear than CoGs.

"The Martian Job" is a 155,000-word interactive novel, and 2018 Nebula Award for Game Writing Finalist, by M. Darusha Wehm. It’s entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Succeed in your mission and win power, love, and money—or fail and spend the rest of your life tending bar on another planet. Pay enough attention, and you’ll learn about the corrupt Martian government as you go—along with the rebels who oppose it and the corporation trying to take it over. Will you choose to save the planet’s troubled colonists, or use the information for your own gain? You’ll also encounter opportunities to avenge an old comrade, thwart the machinations of a power-hungry tycoon, or start a revolution. Decide where your loyalty lies: with your team, with Mars, or only with yourself.
