I have played over 30 text based games and I have to say by far, Ironheart is my absolute favorite. Not only does it combine an amazing narrative with an even greater and surprisingly spectacular subject, the whole plot of this game is outstanding, perfectly written and absolutely stunning. The banter and conversations between characters, especially Tonzo who I love, seem so authentic and real that even after multiple playthroughs, it still makes me smile. Amazing game. Thank you so much ❤️

Gonna give it 4* but there is an extremely annoying problem where I keep loosing progress and having to restart... Pretty much got to a point where I memorized my choices to where I just skip everything with an annoyed face.

Enjoyed this story and I'll definitely go down each path in other playthroughs. Only complaint is that the ending is very rushed (I don't if it's because of the alliance I chose). There was hardly any choices in the final chapter as you're sped through it. I would like a sequel as this world is interesting, as anything can happen in this alternate earth, fictional or not! 😁 So I'll be rating it 4/5 stars as there is improvements to be made in the story and option wise.

A very fun ride this one really gets you immersed in the world. Would like to see a bit more world building felt a bit to much like Crusader knights with 80s mech warriors instead of a completely different world with both familiar new elements. Not saying it should have been warhammer fantasy or anything crazy but with the way the writer was able to incorporate mechs and make them feel almost like a natural part of the world. A few more scifi elements could have been added easily.

Storyline was decent, a little hard to follow at times, especially for those who didn't excel in medieval history or the alike. The storyline seem too short on certain subjects/choices that go against the main story, like trying to get back home or can't even try to finish a promise you made to a knight, without putting others at risk and romance is either just one night stands or meaningful ones are at the very end of the story and at Which seems to be rushed; to conclude the storyline. 4 out 5

I really have loved this game. I've been playing it back to back for a week now to see the differences. I love how connected I've become to characters and how torn I have felt when playing against them in a separate play through. Tonzo may just be one of my favourite characters ever written and I would read a full novel on him alone. My one and only wish is that it was longer so I could enjoy it for longer.

About this app

Pilot and customize a giant iron war mech in this alternate medieval history! In 1182 AD, the Papacy, the Caliphate, and the Mongols are at war, and they all have mechs--hulking war robots, powered by energy from mysterious "skystone" meteorites.

Ironheart is a 250,000-word interactive novel by Lee Williams. It’s entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Our story begins in the far future, on a space mission to intercept a comet that can open wormholes through space and time. When your ship and the crew are sucked in and thrown backward through time, you awake from cryogenic suspension in 1182--at the height of the Third Crusade.

Trapped in the past, you must choose sides in the mech war between Saladin's Caliphate, the Catholic Papacy, and Genghis Khan's Mongolian Golden Horde.

Will you search doggedly for the rest of your crew or focus your energies on helping one of the factions in the war that rages around you? Do you seek to unite a divided land? Or use your advanced knowledge to gain wealth and power for yourself?

Along the way, you may meet historical figures such as Saladin, fight off attacks from the notorious order of Assassins and the secretive Knights Templar, or even take part in a grand tournament of mechs!

• Play as male, female or non-binary; gay, straight, bi or asexual.
• Pilot a giant medieval war machine! Choose how to equip, customise and decorate your machine.
• Take sides in the Third Crusade as a knight or emir. Rise through the ranks of your chosen faction or strike out alone.
• Hone your ability in a wide range of skills including warfare, diplomacy, medicine and engineering.
• Manage your own fiefdom. Decide how to govern, what to build and who to recruit.
• Entangle yourself with a wide supporting cast of characters, from fools and bandits to priests and princesses.
• Seek revenge, strive to build a better world or just live it up in the 12th century!

What new future will you forge now that the old one is gone?
