This is the app with only limited navigation. This is the free app which has more ads than chess pieces. This is the app with learning on the various chess pieces which can only be accessed through payment. So yes it's free: but just not very good.

It's garbage, asking you questions without telling you anything, not worth your time I like chess and want to learn more and this definitely isn't the way to do it. Try moving pieces and it tells you you are wrong, then does the exact same move and says its the correct move. Asks questions about jargon and doesn't tell you before testing you...

Great combination of theory and animated exercises. For fifty years I have always been at best a beginner because I did not know where to start learning. I took up GO because I could not do justice to Chess. This app is the guide I have been seeking. Sometimes I am not clear what the exercise expects me to do, but so far it is patient with me and I am learning the concepts of tactical moves.

This is a very fine introductory chess app for beginners and novices, adults and children. The text (theory) is well written with concise graphics and examples, and the practical exercises are valuable applications of the text. The app designers are clearly knowledgeable and experienced chess players.

Good app for learning chess. UI is intuitive enough to figure it out, and once you progress enough, there is a host of grat apps from the same developer to take your game to higher levels.

doesn't really show you how to play as a beginner. gonna look for another app. if you get a question/ move wrong it doesn't matter because it doesn't tell you how to fix it. it just moves on 🤔😒
