This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Nya Djur on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

Neat idea but currently a mess. It doesn't help that the locations of the images in the museum are 1) too dark and 2) usually down on the floor, requiring you to crouch down and crawl on the carpet.

About this app

This app lets you view the installation ‘Nya Djur’ at the The Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm.

Look at the markers on the side of the showcases through your phone’s camera and see the animals come alive! If you feed them the right food, they will follow you around the exhibition. You can play with them and if you have more than one animal you can mix them with each other to create new strange creatures. If you like a creature you have created you can bring it home with you as a virtual pet.

‘Nya Djur’ is a project by Jakob Skote and Sandra Dang in collaboration with the The Swedish Museum of Natural History, with funding from Kulturbryggan and Stockholms stad.
