Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing XOR on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Nice game, but the tip jar doesn't seem to work for me

After starting slow, it picks up with more interesting puzzles. I can't figure out how to stop the annoying sound effects, though, which is incredibly irritating.

About this app

XOR, a minimalist puzzler with lots of style. Tiles toggle from black to white (and vice versa) when you land on them. Turn all the black tiles white to beat the level, but don't forget to leave a path back to the star shaped starting position.

Keep an eye on the dual counters in the top left and right of the screen. One ticks down the time remaining, the other counts down the number of moves you have left to solve the puzzle.

Easy to play, hard to master.

* What is Mendicant Advertising?

I designed this game to be free, to be supported by adverts. But where to put them that doesn't interrupt the game. The simple answer is.. nowhere.

So this is the experiment I'm trying out to begin with. All the adverts are located out of the way in menu section labelled 'The Tip Jar'. When connected to the internet, a button at the bottom of the screen will allow you to view ads to help support this game.

You need never view a single advert if you don't want to, you don't even need to visit 'The Tip Jar' ever. You won't be penalized, the game won't even give you friendly reminders to guilt you into going there.

But when you have time, all I ask is go there and view a few adverts every so often to help support this game. More levels and tile types are in the works. Help keep any updates completely free.
