Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing PetAR Simulator - A virtual pet at home! on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. Everyone loves dogs! There is no doubt about it! Yet not many people have the capability to keep a dog due to personal reasons, may it be too much responsibility or money. What if I tell you that you can have a cute furball all to yourself without worrying about any of the troubles that come along with a dog?

Introducing, PetAR Simulator! An augmented reality-based game, it involves you taking care of a virtual dog with best of affection and love. Consisting of three dogs to choose from, we can feed the dog, give it water, a nice home for it to sleep in and we can give commands for it to follow!

Features include:

> Touch-reactive pet dog, who would listen to your tap for movement.
> GUI system for button-based commands such as sit, sleep, play with your paw, follow me and jump.
> GUI system for placing kennel, water bowl, food bowl, ball fetching.
> Options to change the breed of the dog.
> GUI system to navigate around the application: Start, Help (tutorial) and Exit.
> Custom textures and materials.
> Custom sprites for GUI.
> GUI system for the HUD of your puppy.

Made using Unity5 and ARCore.

Originally started off as an assignment for my university, it carried on as a personal project.
