As someone who loves real strategy games and hates most games in the "mobile strategy" genre, I'm quite pleasantly surprised with how long Hades' Star has kept my interest. It gets fairly close to what I want out of a mobile strategy game. Of course, there are plenty of times when I'm just waiting on timers, hence the four stars; if there were more decisions to be made in between play sessions, I would possibly even rate the game 5 stars.

No ads (👍🏻) but I do have to say, I've been playing the game for about 5 years, and its been a great experience but lately its been meh. My biggest problem is once u reach mid-game, progression is very slow. I like white stars but the fact that these last literal days and weeks is kind of annoying for people who have a life outside of this game. For solo players, other than expanding ur base and red stars and blue stars( which have sever matchmaking problems), there is not much to do.

Probably the best game of this sort I've come accross on Android over the years. No ads(!), no sneaky money grabbing p2w baits. A breath of fresh air! Simple yet complex at the same time. It's all in the details. As a player you get to chose your pace, casual or fully dedicated. I usually don't spend any money on (mobile) games but I have decided to buy a pack of crystals and will probably do it every now and then primarily as a sign of support for the developers. Looking forward to next update.

Edit: Well, it's been a year since the first time I wrote my review and I have to say, the game is brilliant. It's kept me hooked for so long, and I've still only delved into 25% of the content. The devs also added a confirmation button whenever you place or move a building, so that's my main issue with the game dealt with. 🙂 I'll be glad to re-rate it 5/5 this time. Download it, try it out, and check out the plethora of guides out there, and decide for yourself. I know I love it. Cheers. 🙂

Played few days, interesting concept, but the prices are ridiculous. I had a ton of upgrades unlocked via artifacts, but I could not research more than three, because upg costs 8000 credits and shipment from planet to planet gives 11 credits or like 100 max. Red Star looked nice at first, but it is boring, go in destroy 1-2 aliens, salvage few of the artifacts and run, oh and after upgrading the ships to carry 4 items and battleships only a bit, you can do that 1 a day - out of fuel. Meh sadly

Competing with higher level players in blue stars is dumbest $h*t I have ever seen. You literally have to get ready to lose. Just WHY? The game itself is one of the best strategy games out there, and I really like it. Please fix blue star problem and I will raise to 5 stars.
