JUNIOR PROLIXIA is the FUN way to learn.

Kids enjoy playing the game SOLO or competing against each other in CHALLENGE.
They learn new words or facts from the National Curriculum without realising.

Learning is so much easier if you're having fun and you don't feel like you're working at it !

JUNIOR PROLIXIA is based on the National Curriculum for England & Wales, and the number denotes the age group targeted - thus JP3 (above) is ideal for 11 to 14 year olds (Key Stage 3), but can be played & enjoyed by any age, as long as they have BASIC spelling skills. (CAT, SAT, MAT, etc.)
This is the pilot game - if successful it is anticipated that Key Stages 4 & 5 and the Adult game will follow very soon.

When this game was first developed - GAME ENJOYMENT was its main objective, which we achieved comfortably.
The educational spin off was a by-product but a HUGE advantage.

The original game of PROLIXIA had been developed for adults:- competitive gamers, like me, who wanted to play against opponents without being beaten by a lucky throw of the dice or draw of a letter.
PROLIXIA (whatever the version) achieves these objectives with ease.

Imagine a game that is a mixture of the BEST aspects of Scrabble & Trivial Pursuits but with luck taken out of the equation, and you almost have PROLIXIA.

ALMOST but not quite!

PROLIXIA is much more tactical & skillful than these two games
To begin with, and as already mentioned, there is very little luck/chance involved.

There is no rolling of dice, or drawing letters out of a bag - Competitors decide in advance which word they are going to make and then go after the necessary letters.

To gain a letter they have to answer a question!
And this is where the educational element comes in.
Kids learn without trying - they may not get the answer correct the first time round - but they'll remember it for the next.
Then there's the spelling of the words themselves !
They learn new and useful 'Root' words that they can build on (like the Ancient Egyptian sun god, Ra) which becomes, in stages one of the most useful words to know !

All in all, it's a great little learning package!
But mainly, GREAT fun

The adult game has all of the above attributes - but also TACTICS become much more prominent.
Often, the better tactician can be the winner - even if their General Knowledge is inferior ! ! !
