I'm not good at this game, but I'm addicted. The last level I solved took me something like 900 moves and 45 minutes, but I finally figured it out! The gear spacing is the trickiest thing, because ratios that would work are impossible to construct, as there is no way to get the gears to mesh in certain configurations. The only way is to think again, then think some more, and maybe try random dumb things out of desperation. It really is a brilliant puzzle game, and truly a masterpiece of the genre.

... and addicted... and obsessed... and occasionally frustrated... but (did I mention?) OH SO IN LOVE!!! This is the first gear game I've come across that actually includes gear ratio requirements in the mix. That one "simple" twist keeps your brain buzzing and teaches you a thing or two about transmission design while still being fun as hell. I don't know what all lies ahead, but I'd love to see chains/belts included too. A tablet version (or added levels) w/ a bigger playing grid would be awesome too!

The gear ratio stuff makes this game's puzzles actually-interesting to solve. I finished all the levels a year or two ago and I'm still going back trying to perfect my scores. More levels, please!

Los primeros niveles son muy simples, pero cuando las relaciones de velocidad se complican y se utilizan varios niveles de ruedas el juego adquiere mucha profundidad. Bastante más entretenido que Geared.

About this app

Build unique machines - from simple gearboxes to complex clockworks! Space is scarce - avoid redundant cogs in the wheel! Stack multiple gears and take the genre to a whole new level!

Groovy Gears is a simple yet challenging puzzle game. Your task is to arrange gears of different size in order to make all output shafts rotate at the correct speed. Unlike other gear-based games, Groovy Gears allows you to stack multiple gears on top of each other, opening up a plethora of new possibilities.

The game features 75 levels with increasing degree of difficulty. While the first levels will get you going quickly, a good deal of logical thought is required in the later stages. But don't worry: If you ever get stuck, you can simply skip a level.
