About this app

Hearts is a trick-taking card game, where you want to avoid winning tricks with the heart suit and the queen of spades. It's a multiplayer game for 4 people with no partnerships.

The cards rank from Ace to two, high to low, in each suit. The object is to avoid scoring points. Players score penalty points for cards in the tricks which they won. Each heart card scores one point, and the queen of spades scores 13 points. The other cards have no value. There is no trump suit.

You can shoot the moon if you win all the scoring cards, in that case, your score is reduced by 26 points, or you can choose to have all other players' scores increased by 26 points.

Break hearts by being the first one to play one hearts card, but be careful, you don't want to score points! Unless you're planning on shooting the moon. The winner is the player with the lowest score!

You may also know this game by many different names, as it's popular in many regions of the world. It's known as Copas in Portugal, Dame de Pique in France, and Rickety Kate in Australia.
