This is what I need for work/travel! The only downside currently is the lack of tiles, ground tiles such as snow, pine trees, shaded ground tiles etc for all seasons or time of day. You can use different colored maps to simulate different ground tiles but more seasonal and time of day tiles among others would help with the cost of the app. Otherwise, an ok addition to optionally have in a DMs tool box

The log-in experience is a nightmare. The stupid symbol thing isnt cute or stylish, its just standing between me and my account that I've paid a subscription fee for. Just use a password and link to a Google account like every other app, dont try and get creative when it comes to user security. Update: The account process is far too buggy and complicated. I cancelled my subscription and requested a refund through Google Play.

Hey this is really good! Easy to use on a phone, and I imagine it would be amazing in a tablet! Randomly decorating the rooms I places with appropriate features was an unexpected surprise, and being able to cycle through/manually place them was over the top. My subscription budget is spoken for, alas! But keep it up! It's awesome!

Okay, here goes. You get one star for not immediately asking me for a rating. I hate apps that do that. Another for decent customization content. The third for ease of use. You're missing the other two because 1, if the app isn't free at all, it shouldn't be free on the play store. I searched "free ttrpg map makers", this shouldn't have been the top result. 2, saving the map should be one-tap. I shouldn't have to open another app and then SEND IT TO MYSELF to save the picture to my phone.

The UI is terrible, the tools are a pain to find and use, I couldn't even tell what this app was for until I got an email asking me to subscribe (classic scenario where I downloaded it along with a few other apps of it's sort, and forgot a few days later.) Don't waste your time, if you're okay with paying for a mapping tool, get Illwinter's Floorplan Generator on steam. Best mapping software I've tried. For free maps that are roll20 compatible, go to Dungen.app the maps are basic but good.

This is a fantastic map building app! I'm so pleasantly surprised, it has everything that I want as a graphic designer. The click and drop options make map building feel like playing with Legos. There are so many options not just the map skin (floor, grass, water) but also for the icons found IN the map (fireplace, sailboat, altar). The team does regular updates, with new graphics options and new play experiences. Play with your friends real time in the map, and talk in chat simultaneously.

About this app

The Calamus is a companion for tabletop roleplaying games, such as Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder, that allows you to create huge battlemaps utilizing dozens of hand-drawn tiles, create custom PC, NPC, and FOE tokens, and host games in which players can add and move their own characters in real-time.

The Calamus also features a robust chat, in which you can send messages as yourself or any token you have in play, publicly or privately.

Fog of War and 2x2 Characters have recently been added.
