About this app

An important skill developed in early math learning is a child’s ability to use basic facts in routine math assignments and daily living experiences. According to the 2008 final report of the National Mathematics Advisory Panel, “Students who develop immediate recall of arithmetic facts free the ‘working memory’ for solving more complex problems.” For most children, the key to learning the basic facts is practice -- and it’s much easier to get kids to practice when that practice is fun!

The AQUA series of Apps was designed to engage children in practice that will lead to the mastery of basic facts and improved computational skills. The games are presented in a positive, challenging, and enjoyable format. The more they play… the more they learn…the more they learn the more confident and competent they will become as mathematicians.

AQUA 101

DIVE DEEP into AQUA 101 for an ocean adventure that is a fun and challenging way to practice basic math facts from 1-10. You get to choose the level settings that are best for you. When you are ready to start, just press the button to roll the dice. As quickly as you can, add the dice together and enter your answer. If your answer is correct, the computer will add that total to your score. Your big challenge is to reach a total of 101 … but WATCH OUT for the NUMBER ONE! If you roll DOUBLE ONES, your scores goes back to ZERO! But get ready to celebrate if you roll TRIPLE ONES, because that would make you an instant winner!
