Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Bright on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

Really great app. Easy to pair with your smart meter and makes it really easy to see how much energy you've used. Very accurate and very easy to use, much easier than the actual IHD. Not sure my Mrs appreciates me checking up on the energy use when I'm out of the house though... 😂

What a FANTASTIC app, I've just had my glow IHD and it took about 5 minutes to pair, now I've got all of my Octopus Agile data live in my home ona display, I can see my cost and usage from the app, down to approximately every 6-10 seconds! What an innovative thing to make. Top marks! No more using a customer built retrospective dashboard that's only able to tell me yesterday's usage, no more guessing at my current usage, no more content switching across apps to find out the price etc. Love it

Great app for monitoring energy usage,would be helpful to have instructions on the features of the different parts of the app. Quick response from customer service when I emailed them a query.😀

Every time I went to select a photo from my camera roll, the sign-up process restarted, so completely unusable. I have a non DCC SMETS1 Secure unit, so couldn't use the display sign up.

The graphic used to show current usage isn't all that helpful, you don't really know if your energy usage is high or low. An old in home display I had showed my usage like a car speedometer, going up in green, amber and red increments (set by historic usage). It also showed an estimated cost of energy that day, good for those who don't speak in kWh. It's super annoying that everytime the app updates, you have to log back in. A widget could be useful also - a simple traffic light perhaps.

Great app, moved onto this from the USIO app and the interface is clean and easy to use, and customer support is excellent.

Monitor your energy consumption anytime, anywhere with Bright. For real-time data you need Glowmarkt compatible hardware - which works with either smart or traditional meters. People with SMETS2 (or E&A SMETS 1) meters can access their half hourly data with Bright for free, once they go through our verification process.
Bright lets you check your energy consumption, this could be electricity and gas usage from your smart meters, via the DCC or our Consumer Access Device (CAD). Clamp-on technology sensors can support electricity usage monitoring.
