Installed because I saw it listed on my state parks pass. Uninstalled because it needs a plug in, asks for premium subscription and a sign in right away, but ultimately because I couldn't get any information out of it. This stuff should have been worked out in alpha or beta testing... Long before you ask anyone for money.

I think this is a great idea and would use this all the time but it needs a lot of work. Can't get the app to work on Samsung galaxy s8 at all. Won't find any lakes near me and nothing comes up when I search for it. Location is on and allowed through app. Fix the problems and I'll use this all the time for fishing trips. Thanks.

Downloaded the app today, deleted it 10 minutes later. Terribly slow and locked up every time I attempted to update profile information. Good concept, not so good execution. Hope it gets better.

Absolutely the worst, app asks for input from user for water temp. I visited the site to find that out. Last update was July, this is November.

Boaters, skiers, and all water enthusiasts alike have similar lake information needs. Have you ever asked yourself, “What is the water temperature temperature at the lake?” or “Is it windy?” Many activities require knowledge of more specific lake conditions such as exact wind speed, air temperature, or capacity and traffic level at the lake. Presently, there are no known fixed-position water surface temperature sensors at any lake in the United States. Weather service equipment is not designed to monitor lake conditions, and thus forecasts may not be accurate, updated as frequently as desired, or specific enough to exact lake location. Determining just these few bits of information would require visiting multiple websites, and certain data may be unavailable entirely. Moreover, it is nearly impossible to compare all this information concisely to decide which of many lakes in a given area would be the best fit for one’s desired activities that day.
We at LakeMonster have created an easy-to-use mobile interface capable of retrieving and compiling the most accurate and up-to-date information on lake conditions aimed at helping users make these previously complex decisions. But we took it a few steps further—upon request and agreement, we provide partnering lakes with cameras and sensors to take their lake information to the next level. We also add in points of interest, such as rental shops, bathroom facilities, restaurants, and more. The user can simply download the LakeMonster app, check our accurate sensor information and maps at the specific lakes of interest, and along with live video feeds, have all the pieces of information needed to make an informed decision regarding which lake to visit for the day within seconds.
Conditions can also change quickly, but there is no current system for the park ranger or lake management to communicate with visitors. Our app would notify users of entrance wait times, closings, occupancy limits, and adverse conditions. Having such features on a mobile app capable of sending push notifications and aiding the user in finding alternative plans is ideal. Additional features to make trip planning even easier and all-inclusive within our app, such as scheduling and purchasing reservations and rentals, may be added with additional business contracting.
